Granary No. 5 - Avonmouth
May 2015 (Some photos taken on a night visit in February 2015)
Having been interested in the mills at Avonmouth docks, near Bristol, ever since I started urban exploring I have wanted to get inside this behemoth, The lovely CWS mill on the docks got knocked down in 2013 and since then I have been discussing and scoping access to one or more of the mills located in the Avonmouth docks.
I wasn't too happy with the photos I got on my night visit here despite flicking on some of the light switches inside. As such, I decided to come back in the daytime.
The building has been derelict for about 30 years as made apparent by all the pigeon crap and carcasses everywhere! It was a fun explore but also a bit strange to do in the day as the port is so busy.
Unfortunately history on this building is sparse. It's called Granary No. 5/Grain store no. 5 and I'm assuming it was used as part of the Spillers mill that used to be in the port. It may possibly of been used by BOCM PAULS (an animal feed manufacturer) at some point as well.
